GT and ITA Indoors ...

February 5, 2016

Dear Lettermen and Friends,

Hello again from the Classic City! Let me be the first to say thank you to all the fans, former lettermen and alumni who showed up and supported us during our opening weekend in Atlanta and also here in Athens at the ITA Kickoff event last month. As always, it is great to look up and see so many people in red and black at all of our matches.

With the month of February already here, we find ourselves in the middle of the indoor season. I was very impressed with how we played during the ITA Kickoff Weekend as we won two matches in two days to punch our ticket to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships on Feb. 12-15 in Charlottesville, Va. I thought it was great to see our freshmen contribute in a big way during those two wins. Rookie Walker Duncan went 2-0 in both singles and doubles and clinched the match against UC Santa Barbara. Freshman Jan Zielinski also had a strong weekend at the ITA Kickoff as he won a doubles match and was up in both of his singles matches. Emil Reinberg continues to make terrific progress and will be a big contributor as well.

I also want to take this time to congratulate senior Austin Smith for being named the SEC Player of the Week for his efforts at the ITA Kickoff. Austin had a great week and continues to make strides for our program.

We are a little banged up right now with Walker Duncan and Nick Wood both nursing injuries. I thought we really missed them at the SEC/Pac 12 Showdown against UCLA, but I know they are both working hard to get back!

We are getting ready to host Georgia Tech on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. ET before heading out to the ITA Indoor National Championships on Feb. 12-15. We will then return home to host East Tennessee State on Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. before beginning SEC play with back-to-back home matches against Mississippi State on March 4 at 2:30 p.m. ET and vs. Alabama on March 6 at 1 p.m. ET. We hope to see you at all of our home matches and remember to always be loud and proud!

If you are looking to make a contribution for the 2015-16 year, please do so by using the contribution sheet which is also included. You can contact our office at 706-542-9348.

As always, thank you for your support.

Go Dawgs!
